Isaiah 48:3-5
Lexham English Bible
3 “I declared the former things from of old,[a]
and they went out from my mouth.
And I announced[b] them suddenly;
I acted,[c] and they came to pass,
4 because I know[d] that you are obstinate,
and your neck an iron sinew,
and your forehead bronze.
5 And I declared them to you from of old;
I announced[e] them to you before they came to pass
so that you would not say, ‘My idol did them,
and my image and my cast image commanded them.’

Isaiah 48:3-5
New International Version
3 I foretold the former things(A) long ago,
my mouth announced(B) them and I made them known;
then suddenly(C) I acted, and they came to pass.
4 For I knew how stubborn(D) you were;
your neck muscles(E) were iron,
your forehead(F) was bronze.
5 Therefore I told you these things long ago;
before they happened I announced(G) them to you
so that you could not say,
‘My images brought them about;(H)
my wooden image and metal god ordained them.’
