Ciro, libertador de Israel
45 Así dice el Señor a Ciro, su ungido(A),
a quien he tomado por la diestra(B),
para someter ante él(C) naciones,
y para desatar[a](D) lomos de reyes,
para abrir ante él las puertas,
para que no queden cerradas las entradas:
2 Yo iré delante de ti y allanaré los lugares escabrosos[b](E);
romperé las puertas de bronce y haré pedazos sus barras(F) de hierro(G).
3 Te daré los tesoros(H) ocultos[c],
y las riquezas de los lugares secretos,
para que sepas que soy yo,
el Señor, Dios de Israel, el que te llama por tu nombre(I).
4 Por amor a mi siervo Jacob(J)
y a Israel mi escogido,
te he llamado por tu nombre(K);
te he honrado,
aunque no me conocías(L).
5 Yo soy el Señor, y no hay ningún otro(M);
fuera de mí no hay Dios(N).
Yo te ceñiré[d](O), aunque no me has conocido,
6 para que se sepa que desde el nacimiento del sol hasta donde se pone(P),
no hay ninguno fuera de mí.
Yo soy el Señor, y no hay otro(Q);
7 el que forma la luz y crea las tinieblas(R),
el que causa bienestar[e] y crea calamidades(S),
yo soy el Señor, el que hace todo esto.
El poder supremo de Dios
8 Destilad, oh cielos, desde lo alto(T),
y derramen justicia las nubes;
ábrase la tierra(U) y dé fruto la salvación,
y brote la justicia con ella(V).
Yo, el Señor, todo lo he creado.
9 ¡Ay del que contiende con su Hacedor[f](W),
el tiesto entre[g] los tiestos de tierra!
¿Dirá el barro al alfarero(X): «Qué haces»?
¿O tu obra dirá: «Él no tiene manos»?
10 ¡Ay de aquel que diga al padre: «¿Qué engendras?».
O a la mujer: «¿Qué das a luz?[h]».
11 Así dice el Señor(Y), el Santo de Israel y su Hacedor[i](Z):
Preguntadme[j](AA) acerca de las cosas venideras tocante a mis hijos(AB),
y dejaréis a mi cuidado la obra de mis manos(AC).
12 Yo hice la tierra y creé al hombre sobre ella(AD).
Yo extendí los cielos(AE) con mis manos,
y di órdenes a todo su ejército(AF).
13 Yo lo he despertado en justicia(AG),
y todos sus caminos allanaré(AH).
Él edificará mi ciudad(AI) y dejará libres a mis desterrados
sin pago ni recompensa(AJ) —dice el Señor de los ejércitos.
14 Así dice el Señor:
Los productos[k] de Egipto(AK), la mercadería de Cus[l](AL)
y los sabeos, hombres de gran estatura,
pasarán a ti y tuyos serán(AM);
detrás de ti caminarán, pasarán encadenados(AN)
y ante ti se inclinarán(AO).
Te suplicarán:
«Ciertamente Dios está contigo[m](AP) y no hay ningún otro,
ningún otro dios(AQ)».
15 En verdad, tú eres un Dios que te ocultas(AR),
oh Dios de Israel, Salvador(AS).
16 Avergonzados y aun humillados serán todos ellos;
los fabricantes de ídolos[n] a una se irán humillados(AT).
17 Israel ha sido salvado por el Señor
con salvación eterna(AU);
no seréis avergonzados ni humillados(AV)
por toda la eternidad.
18 Porque así dice el Señor que creó los cielos(AW)
(Él es el Dios que formó la tierra y la hizo(AX),
Él la estableció y no la hizo un lugar desolado[o](AY),
sino que la formó para ser habitada(AZ)):
Yo soy el Señor y no hay ningún otro(BA).
19 No he hablado en secreto(BB),
en alguna tierra oscura[p];
no dije a la descendencia[q] de Jacob(BC):
«Buscadme(BD) en lugar desolado[r]».
Yo, el Señor, hablo justicia(BE)
y declaro lo que es recto(BF).
El Dios verdadero y los ídolos
20 Reuníos y venid;
juntos acercaos, fugitivos de las naciones(BG).
No tienen conocimiento(BH)
los que llevan su ídolo de madera[s](BI)
y suplican a un dios que no puede salvar(BJ).
21 Declarad y presentad vuestro caso;
sí, que deliberen juntos(BK):
¿Quién ha anunciado esto desde la antigüedad(BL)
y lo ha declarado desde entonces?
¿No soy yo, el Señor?
No hay más Dios que yo(BM),
un Dios justo y salvador(BN);
no hay ninguno fuera de mí.
22 Volveos a mí(BO) y sed salvos, todos los términos de la tierra(BP);
porque yo soy Dios, y no hay ningún otro.
23 Por mí mismo he jurado(BQ),
ha salido de mi boca en justicia(BR)
una palabra que no será revocada[t]:
Que ante mí se doblará toda rodilla(BS), y toda lengua jurará lealtad(BT).
24 De mí dirán: «Solo en el Señor hay justicia y fuerza(BU)».
A Él vendrán y serán avergonzados
todos los que contra Él se enojaron(BV).
25 En el Señor será justificada y se gloriará(BW)
toda la descendencia[u] de Israel.

El Señor confía una misión a Ciro
45 El Señor consagró a Ciro como rey,
lo tomó de la mano
para que dominara las naciones
y desarmara a los reyes.
El Señor hace que delante de Ciro
se abran las puertas de las ciudades
sin que nadie pueda cerrárselas.
Y ahora le dice:
2 «Yo iré delante de ti,
derribaré las alturas,
romperé las puertas de bronce
y haré pedazos las barras de hierro.
3 Yo te entregaré tesoros escondidos,
riquezas guardadas en lugares secretos,
para que sepas que yo soy el Señor,
el Dios de Israel, que te llama por tu nombre.
4 Por consideración a mi siervo Jacob,
al pueblo de Israel, que he elegido,
te he llamado por tu nombre
y te he dado el título de honor que tienes,
sin que tú me conocieras.
5 Yo soy el Señor, no hay otro;
fuera de mí no hay Dios.
Yo te he preparado para la lucha
sin que tú me conocieras,
6 para que sepan todos, de oriente a occidente,
que fuera de mí no hay ningún otro.
Yo soy el Señor, no hay otro.
7 Yo creo la luz y la oscuridad,
produzco el bienestar y la desgracia.
Yo, el Señor, hago todas estas cosas.
El poder soberano de Dios
8 »Yo enviaré de lo alto mi victoria,
como rocío del cielo y lluvia de las nubes,
y la tierra la recibirá;
como fruto producirá la salvación
y a su lado florecerá la justicia.»
9 Una vasija de barro, igual a otra cualquiera,
no se pone a discutir con quien la hizo.
El barro no dice al que lo trabaja:
«¿Qué estás haciendo?»,
ni el objeto hecho por él le dice:
«Tú no sabes trabajar.»
10 Tampoco puede un hijo reprochar a sus padres
el haberlo traído a este mundo.
11 El Señor, el Dios Santo de Israel,
quien lo formó, dice:
«¿Van acaso ustedes a pedirme cuentas de mis hijos,
o a darme lecciones de cómo hacer mis cosas?
12 Yo creé la tierra y sus habitantes,
extendí el cielo con mis manos
y mandé que aparecieran todos los astros.
13 Yo hice aparecer a Ciro para que triunfe,
y voy a hacerle fáciles todos los caminos;
él reconstruirá mi ciudad
y dejará en libertad a mis desterrados,
sin exigir pago ni compensación.»
El Señor todopoderoso ha hablado.
14 El Señor dice a Israel:
«Los campesinos de Egipto,
los comerciantes de Etiopía,
y la gente de Sabá, de alta estatura,
se rendirán a ti y serán esclavos tuyos;
irán encadenados detrás de ti,
se arrodillarán delante de ti y te suplicarán:
“Ciertamente que Dios está entre ustedes,
y no hay más, no hay otro dios.”»
15 Sin embargo, tú eres un Dios invisible,
Dios salvador de Israel.
16 Todos los que hacen ídolos
quedarán avergonzados, humillados y en ridículo.
17 Pero a Israel lo salvó el Señor,
lo salvó para siempre,
y jamás quedará avergonzado ni humillado.
18 El creador del cielo,
el que es Dios y Señor,
el que hizo la tierra y la formó,
el que la afirmó,
el que la creó, no para que estuviera vacía
sino para que tuviera habitantes, dice:
«Yo soy el Señor, y no hay otro.
19 Yo no hablo en secreto ni en lugares oscuros de la tierra.
Yo no digo a los descendientes de Jacob:
“Búsquenme donde no hay nada.”
Yo, el Señor, hablo la verdad,
digo lo que es justo.
El Señor se enfrenta a los ídolos
20 »Reúnanse y vengan,
acérquense todos los sobrevivientes de los pueblos.
Son unos ignorantes quienes llevan en procesión
sus ídolos de madera
y se ponen a orar a un dios
que no puede salvarlos.
21 Hablen y presenten sus pruebas,
consúltense, si quieren, unos con otros:
¿Quién predijo estas cosas desde el principio?
¿Quién las anunció desde hace tiempo?
¿No fui acaso yo, el Señor?
Y no hay Dios fuera de mí.
Fuera de mí no hay Dios victorioso y salvador.
22 »Vengan a mí, que yo los salvaré,
pueblos del extremo de la tierra,
pues yo soy Dios, y no hay otro.
23 Yo lo juré por mí mismo,
hice una promesa de triunfo,
y esa promesa se cumplirá:
que ante mí todos doblarán la rodilla,
y por mí jurarán todos
24 y dirán: “Solamente en el Señor
están la victoria y el poder.”
Todos los que me odian
quedarán en ridículo.
25 Gracias a mí, todo el pueblo de Israel
saldrá triunfante y estará orgulloso de mí.»

45 “This is what the Lord says to his anointed,(A)
to Cyrus,(B) whose right hand I take hold(C) of
to subdue nations(D) before him
and to strip kings of their armor,
to open doors before him
so that gates will not be shut:
2 I will go before you(E)
and will level(F) the mountains[a];
I will break down gates(G) of bronze
and cut through bars of iron.(H)
3 I will give you hidden treasures,(I)
riches stored in secret places,(J)
so that you may know(K) that I am the Lord,
the God of Israel, who summons you by name.(L)
4 For the sake of Jacob my servant,(M)
of Israel my chosen,
I summon you by name
and bestow on you a title of honor,
though you do not acknowledge(N) me.
5 I am the Lord, and there is no other;(O)
apart from me there is no God.(P)
I will strengthen you,(Q)
though you have not acknowledged me,
6 so that from the rising of the sun
to the place of its setting(R)
people may know(S) there is none besides me.(T)
I am the Lord, and there is no other.
7 I form the light and create darkness,(U)
I bring prosperity and create disaster;(V)
I, the Lord, do all these things.
8 “You heavens above, rain(W) down my righteousness;(X)
let the clouds shower it down.
Let the earth open wide,
let salvation(Y) spring up,
let righteousness flourish with it;
I, the Lord, have created it.
9 “Woe to those who quarrel(Z) with their Maker,(AA)
those who are nothing but potsherds(AB)
among the potsherds on the ground.
Does the clay say to the potter,(AC)
‘What are you making?’(AD)
Does your work say,
‘The potter has no hands’?(AE)
10 Woe to the one who says to a father,
‘What have you begotten?’
or to a mother,
‘What have you brought to birth?’
11 “This is what the Lord says—
the Holy One(AF) of Israel, and its Maker:(AG)
Concerning things to come,
do you question me about my children,
or give me orders about the work of my hands?(AH)
12 It is I who made the earth(AI)
and created mankind on it.
My own hands stretched out the heavens;(AJ)
I marshaled their starry hosts.(AK)
13 I will raise up Cyrus[b](AL) in my righteousness:
I will make all his ways straight.(AM)
He will rebuild my city(AN)
and set my exiles free,
but not for a price or reward,(AO)
says the Lord Almighty.”
14 This is what the Lord says:
“The products(AP) of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush,[c]
and those tall Sabeans(AQ)—
they will come over to you(AR)
and will be yours;
they will trudge behind you,(AS)
coming over to you in chains.(AT)
They will bow down before you
and plead(AU) with you, saying,
‘Surely God is with you,(AV) and there is no other;
there is no other god.(AW)’”
15 Truly you are a God who has been hiding(AX) himself,
the God and Savior(AY) of Israel.
16 All the makers of idols will be put to shame and disgraced;(AZ)
they will go off into disgrace together.
17 But Israel will be saved(BA) by the Lord
with an everlasting salvation;(BB)
you will never be put to shame or disgraced,(BC)
to ages everlasting.
18 For this is what the Lord says—
he who created the heavens,
he is God;
he who fashioned and made the earth,(BD)
he founded it;
he did not create it to be empty,(BE)
but formed it to be inhabited(BF)—
he says:
“I am the Lord,
and there is no other.(BG)
19 I have not spoken in secret,(BH)
from somewhere in a land of darkness;(BI)
I have not said to Jacob’s descendants,(BJ)
‘Seek(BK) me in vain.’
I, the Lord, speak the truth;
I declare what is right.(BL)
20 “Gather together(BM) and come;
assemble, you fugitives from the nations.
Ignorant(BN) are those who carry(BO) about idols of wood,
who pray to gods that cannot save.(BP)
21 Declare what is to be, present it—
let them take counsel together.
Who foretold(BQ) this long ago,
who declared it from the distant past?(BR)
Was it not I, the Lord?
And there is no God apart from me,(BS)
a righteous God(BT) and a Savior;(BU)
there is none but me.
22 “Turn(BV) to me and be saved,(BW)
all you ends of the earth;(BX)
for I am God, and there is no other.(BY)
23 By myself I have sworn,(BZ)
my mouth has uttered in all integrity(CA)
a word that will not be revoked:(CB)
Before me every knee will bow;(CC)
by me every tongue will swear.(CD)
24 They will say of me, ‘In the Lord alone
are deliverance(CE) and strength.(CF)’”
All who have raged against him
will come to him and be put to shame.(CG)
25 But all the descendants(CH) of Israel
will find deliverance(CI) in the Lord
and will make their boast in him.(CJ)

45 Thus saith the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;
2 I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:
3 And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
4 For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.
5 I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else.
7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.
8 Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the Lord have created it.
9 Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?
10 Woe unto him that saith unto his father, What begettest thou? or to the woman, What hast thou brought forth?
11 Thus saith the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.
12 I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.
13 I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the Lord of hosts.
14 Thus saith the Lord, The labour of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no God.
15 Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.
16 They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols.
17 But Israel shall be saved in the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.
18 For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord; and there is none else.
19 I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the Lord speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.
20 Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.
21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the Lord? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.
22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.
24 Surely, shall one say, in the Lord have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.
25 In the Lord shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.
