Isaiah 44:6-9

⁶“This is what the Lord says, He who is the ^(A)King of Israel and his ^(B)Redeemer, the Lord of armies:

‘I am the ^(C)first and I am the last,
And there is no God ^(D)besides Me.
⁷Who is like Me? ^(E)Let him proclaim and declare it;
And, let him confront Me
^[a]Beginning with My establishing of the ancient ^[b]nation.
Then let them declare to them the things that are coming
And the events that are going to take place.
⁸Do not tremble and do not be afraid;
^(F)Have I not long since announced it to you and declared it?
And ^(G)you are My witnesses.
Is there any God ^(H)besides Me,
Or is there any other ^(I)Rock?
I know of none.’”

The Foolishness of Idolatry

⁹Those who fashion an idol are all futile, and their treasured things are of no benefit; even their own witnesses fail to see or know, so that they will be ^(J)put to shame.
