Lead out those who have eyes but are blind,(A)
    who have ears but are deaf.(B)
All the nations gather together(C)
    and the peoples assemble.
Which of their gods foretold(D) this
    and proclaimed to us the former things?
Let them bring in their witnesses to prove they were right,
    so that others may hear and say, “It is true.”
10 “You are my witnesses,(E)” declares the Lord,
    “and my servant(F) whom I have chosen,
so that you may know(G) and believe me
    and understand that I am he.
Before me no god(H) was formed,
    nor will there be one after me.(I)
11 I, even I, am the Lord,(J)
    and apart from me there is no savior.(K)
12 I have revealed and saved and proclaimed—
    I, and not some foreign god(L) among you.
You are my witnesses,(M)” declares the Lord, “that I am God.
13     Yes, and from ancient days(N) I am he.(O)
No one can deliver out of my hand.
    When I act, who can reverse it?”(P)

The Incarnation of the Word of Life

That which was from the beginning,(A) which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes,(B) which we have looked at and our hands have touched(C)—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. The life appeared;(D) we have seen it and testify to it,(E) and we proclaim to you the eternal life,(F) which was with the Father and has appeared to us. We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard,(G) so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.(H) We write this(I) to make our[a] joy complete.(J)

Light and Darkness, Sin and Forgiveness

This is the message we have heard(K) from him and declare to you: God is light;(L) in him there is no darkness at all.
