Isaiah 4
English Standard Version
4 (A)And seven women (B)shall take hold of (C)one man in that day, saying, “We will eat our own bread and wear our own clothes, only let us be called by your name; (D)take away our reproach.”
The Branch of the Lord Glorified
2 In that day (E)the branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious, and (F)the fruit of the land shall be the pride and honor of the survivors of Israel. 3 (G)And he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called (H)holy, everyone who has (I)been recorded for life in Jerusalem, 4 when (J)the Lord shall have washed away the filth of (K)the daughters of Zion and cleansed the bloodstains of Jerusalem from its midst by a spirit of judgment and by (L)a spirit of burning.[a] 5 Then the Lord will create over the whole site of Mount Zion and over her assemblies (M)a cloud by day, and smoke and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory there will be (N)a canopy. 6 (O)There will be a (P)booth for shade by day from the heat, and (Q)for a refuge and a shelter from the storm and rain.

“We will (B)eat our own food and wear our own apparel;
Only let us be called by your name,
To take away (C)our reproach.”
The Renewal of Zion
2 In that day (D)the Branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious;
And the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and appealing
For those of Israel who have escaped.
3 And it shall come to pass that he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem (E)will be called holy—everyone who is (F)recorded among the living in Jerusalem. 4 When (G)the Lord has washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and purged the [a]blood of Jerusalem from her midst, by the spirit of judgment and by the spirit of burning, 5 then the Lord will create above every dwelling place of Mount Zion, and above her assemblies, (H)a cloud and smoke by day and (I)the shining of a flaming fire by night. For over all the glory there will be a [b]covering. 6 And there will be a tabernacle for shade in the daytime from the heat, (J)for a place of refuge, and for a shelter from storm and rain.

4 An jenem Tag werden sieben Frauen einen Mann ergreifen und sagen: Wir wollen selbst für unser Brot und für unsere Kleider sorgen;[a] lass uns nur deinen Namen tragen, nimm unsere Schmach hinweg!
Der Spross des Herrn wird Zion Rettung und Segen bringen
2 An jenem Tag wird der Spross[b] des Herrn schön und herrlich sein, und die Frucht des Landes wird der Stolz und der Schmuck für die Entkommenen Israels sein.
3 Und es wird geschehen: Jeder Übriggebliebene in Zion und jeder Übriggelassene in Jerusalem wird heilig genannt werden, jeder, der zum Leben eingeschrieben ist in Jerusalem.
4 Ja, wenn der Herr den Schmutz der Töchter Zions abgewaschen und die Blutschuld Jerusalems aus seiner Mitte hinweggetan hat durch den Geist des Gerichts und den Geist der Vertilgung,
5 dann wird der Herr über der ganzen Wohnung des Berges Zion und über seinen Versammlungen bei Tag eine Wolke und Rauch schaffen und den Glanz einer Feuerflamme bei Nacht, denn über der ganzen Herrlichkeit wird ein Schutzdach[c] sein;
6 und eine Laubhütte wird zum Schatten vor der Hitze bei Tag sein, und zur Zuflucht und zum Schirm vor Unwetter und Regen.
