Isaiah 38:15-22

New International Version

¹⁵ But what can I say?^(A)
    He has spoken to me, and he himself has done this.^(B)
I will walk humbly^(C) all my years
    because of this anguish of my soul.^(D)
16 Lord, by such things people live;
    and my spirit finds life in them too.
You restored me to health
    and let me live.^(E)
17 Surely it was for my benefit^(F)
    that I suffered such anguish.^(G)
In your love you kept me
    from the pit^(H) of destruction;
you have put all my sins^(I)
    behind your back.^(J)
18 For the grave^(K) cannot praise you,
    death cannot sing your praise;^(L)
those who go down to the pit^(M)
    cannot hope for your faithfulness.
¹⁹ The living, the living—they praise^(N) you,
    as I am doing today;
parents tell their children^(O)
    about your faithfulness.

²⁰ The Lord will save me,
    and we will sing^(P) with stringed instruments^(Q)
all the days of our lives^(R)
    in the temple^(S) of the Lord.
