Hezekiah’s Prayer in the Temple

14 Then Hezekiah took the [a]letter from the hand of the messengers and read it, and he went up to the house of Yahweh and [b]spread it out before Yahweh. 15 And Hezekiah prayed to Yahweh saying, 16 “O Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, (A)who is enthroned above the cherubim, You are the (B)God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. (C)You have made heaven and earth. 17 (D)Incline Your ear, O Yahweh, and hear; open Your eyes, O Yahweh, and see; and (E)listen to all the words of Sennacherib, who sent them to [c](F)reproach the living God. 18 Truly, O Yahweh, the (G)kings of Assyria have laid waste to all the countries and their lands 19 and have cast their gods into the fire, for they were not gods but the (H)work of men’s hands, wood and stone. So they have (I)destroyed them. 20 But now, O Yahweh our God, (J)save us from his hand that (K)all the kingdoms of the earth may know that [d]You are Yahweh, You alone.”

Hezekiah’s Prayer

14 Hezeki′ah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it; and Hezeki′ah went up to the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord. 15 And Hezeki′ah prayed to the Lord: 16 “O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, who art enthroned above the cherubim, thou art the God, thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth. 17 Incline thy ear, O Lord, and hear; open thy eyes, O Lord, and see; and hear all the words of Sennach′erib, which he has sent to mock the living God. 18 Of a truth, O Lord, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations and their lands, 19 and have cast their gods into the fire; for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone; therefore they were destroyed. 20 So now, O Lord our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou alone art the Lord.”
