³⁵ ‘For my own honor and for the sake of my servant David,
    I will defend this city and protect it.’”

⁵ The Lord of Heaven’s Armies will hover over Jerusalem
    and protect it like a bird protecting its nest.
He will defend and save the city;
    he will pass over it and rescue it.”

²⁵ “I—yes, I alone—will blot out your sins for my own sake
    and will never think of them again.

¹⁵ “In those days and at that time
    I will raise up a righteous descendant^[a] from King David’s line.
    He will do what is just and right throughout the land.
¹⁶ In that day Judah will be saved,
    and Jerusalem will live in safety.
And this will be its name:
    ‘The Lord Is Our Righteousness.’^[b]

⁹     For my people will serve the Lord their God
and their king descended from David—
    the king I will raise up for them.

⁵ “For the time is coming,”
    says the Lord,
“when I will raise up a righteous descendant^[a]
    from King David’s line.
He will be a King who rules with wisdom.
    He will do what is just and right throughout the land.
⁶ And this will be his name:
    ‘The Lord Is Our Righteousness.’^[b]
In that day Judah will be saved,
    and Israel will live in safety.
