²⁹ for our “God is a consuming fire.”^[a](A)

¹⁰ they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury,^(A) which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath.^(B) They will be tormented with burning sulfur^(C) in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb.

⁴⁶ “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.^(A)”^(B)

⁴¹ “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me,^(A) you who are cursed, into the eternal fire^(B) prepared for the devil and his angels.^(C)

⁸ If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble,^(A) cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire.

²⁴ “And they will go out and look on the dead bodies^(A) of those who rebelled^(B) against me; the worms^(C) that eat them will not die, the fire that burns them will not be quenched,^(D) and they will be loathsome to all mankind.”

²⁴ And you said, “The Lord our God has shown us^(A) his glory and his majesty,^(B) and we have heard his voice from the fire. Today we have seen that a person can live even if God speaks with them.^{(C) 25} But now, why should we die? This great fire will consume us, and we will die if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any longer.^(D)

¹⁰ And the devil, who deceived them,^(A) was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur,^(B) where the beast^(C) and the false prophet^(D) had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.^(E)
