For You have (A)abandoned Your people, the house of Jacob,
Because they are filled with influences from the east,
And they are soothsayers (B)like the Philistines.
They also [a](C)strike bargains with the children of foreigners.
Their land has also been filled with silver and gold
And there is no end to their treasures;
Their land has also been filled with (D)horses,
And there is no end to their chariots.
Their land has also been (E)filled with idols;
They worship the (F)work of their hands,
That which their fingers have made.
So (G)the common person has been humbled
And the person of importance has been brought low,
But (H)do not forgive them.

  1. Isaiah 2:6 Lit clap their hands

For you have forsaken your people, house of Jacob,
because they are full[a] from the east,
    and of soothsayers like the Philistines,
    and they make alliances[b] with the offspring of foreigners.
And its land is filled with silver and gold,
    and there is no end to its treasures;
and its land is filled with horses,
    and there is no end to its chariots.
Its land is filled with idols;
    they bow down to the work of their[c] hands,
    to what they made with their[d] fingers.
So humanity is humbled;
    everyone is humbled,
    and you must not forgive them.
