14 Therefore, I will again confound these people
with wonder after wonder.(A)
The wisdom of their wise will vanish,(B)
and the perception of their perceptive will be hidden.

15 Woe to those who go to great lengths
to hide their plans from the Lord.(C)
They do their works in the dark,
and say, “Who sees us? Who knows us?” (D)
16 You have turned things around,
as if the potter were the same as the clay.
How can what is made say about its maker,
“He didn’t make me”?(E)
How can what is formed
say about the one who formed it,
“He doesn’t understand what he’s doing”?

And (B)the wisdom of their wise men will perish,
And the understanding of their men who have understanding will be concealed.”

15 Woe to those who deeply (C)hide their [a]plans from the Lord,
And whose (D)deeds are done in a dark place,
And they say, “(E)Who sees us?” or “Who knows us?”
