Judgment on Edom

^7 (A)Against Edom.

Thus says the Lord of hosts:

¹⁹ For it is written:

^20 (B)Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the ^[a]disputer of this age? ^(C)Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? ²¹ For since, in the ^(D)wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. ²² For ^(E)Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; ²³ but we preach Christ crucified, ^(F)to the Jews a ^[b]stumbling block and to the ^[c]Greeks ^(G)foolishness, ²⁴ but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ ^(H)the power of God and ^(I)the wisdom of God.

²⁹ We know that God ^(A)spoke to ^(B)Moses; as for this fellow, ^(C)we do not know where He is from.”

³⁰ The man answered and said to them, ^(D)“Why, this is a marvelous thing, that you do not know where He is from; yet He has opened my eyes! ³¹ Now we know that ^(E)God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him. ³² Since the world began it has been unheard of that anyone opened the eyes of one who was born blind. ^33 (F)If this Man were not from God, He could do nothing.”

³⁴ They answered and said to him, ^(G)“You were completely born in sins, and are you teaching us?” And they ^[a]cast him out.

⁹ And He said, “Go, and ^(A)tell this people:

³⁹ And Jesus said, ^(A)“For judgment I have come into this world, ^(B)that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind.”

⁴⁰ Then some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these words, ^(C)and said to Him, “Are we blind also?”

⁴¹ Jesus said to them, ^(D)“If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, ‘We see.’ Therefore your sin remains.

²⁴ for I tell you ^(A)that many prophets and kings have desired to see what you see, and have not seen it, and to hear what you hear, and have not heard it.”
