7 The path of the righteous is level;(A)
you, the Upright One,(B) make the way of the righteous smooth.(C)
8 Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws,[a](D)
we wait(E) for you;
your name(F) and renown
are the desire of our hearts.
9 My soul yearns for you in the night;(G)
in the morning my spirit longs(H) for you.
When your judgments(I) come upon the earth,
the people of the world learn righteousness.(J)

you make safe[b] the way of justice.[c]
8 Yes, Lord, in the path of your judgments we wait;[d]
your name and your Law[e] are the[f] soul’s desire.
9 My soul yearns for you in the night;
my spirit within me searches for you.
For when your judgments come upon the earth,
the world’s inhabitants learn righteousness.
