The Fall of Tyre
23 The pronouncement concerning (A)Tyre:
Wail, you (B)ships of (C)Tarshish,
For Tyre is destroyed, without house or [a](D)harbor;
It is reported to them from the land of [b](E)Cyprus.
2 (F)Be silent, you inhabitants of the coastland,
You merchants of Sidon;
[c]Your messengers crossed the sea
3 And were on many waters.
(G)The grain of the [d](H)Nile, the harvest of the River was her revenue;
And she was the (I)market of nations.
4 Be ashamed, (J)Sidon,
For the sea speaks, the stronghold of the sea, saying,
“I have neither been in labor nor given birth,
I have neither brought up young men nor raised virgins.”
5 When the report reaches Egypt,
They will be in (K)anguish over the report of Tyre.
6 Pass over to (L)Tarshish;
Wail, you inhabitants of the coastland.
7 Is this your (M)jubilant city,
Whose origin is from antiquity,
Whose feet used to bring her to [e]colonize distant places?
8 Who has planned this against Tyre, (N)the bestower of crowns,
Whose merchants were princes, whose traders were the honored of the earth?
9 (O)The Lord of armies has planned it, to (P)defile the pride of all beauty,
To despise all the (Q)honored of the earth.
10 [f]Overflow your land like the Nile, you daughter of Tarshish,
There is no more [g]restraint.
11 He has (R)stretched His hand out (S)over the sea,
He has (T)made the kingdoms tremble;
The Lord has given a command concerning Canaan to (U)demolish its strongholds.
12 He has said, “(V)You shall not be jubilant anymore, you crushed virgin daughter of Sidon.
Arise, pass over to [h](W)Cyprus; even there you will find no rest.”
13 Behold, the land of the Chaldeans—this is the people that did not exist; (X)Assyria allocated it for (Y)desert creatures—they erected their siege towers, they stripped its palaces, (Z)they made it a ruin.
14 Wail, you (AA)ships of Tarshish,
For your stronghold is destroyed.
15 Now on that day Tyre will be forgotten for (AB)seventy years like the days of one king. At the end of seventy years it will happen to Tyre as in the song of the prostitute:
16 Take your harp, wander around the city,
You forgotten prostitute;
Pluck the strings skillfully, sing many songs,
That you may be remembered.
17 It will come about at (AC)the end of seventy years that the Lord will visit Tyre. Then she will go back to her prostitute’s wages and (AD)commit prostitution with all the kingdoms [i]on the face of the earth. 18 Her (AE)profit and her prostitute’s wages will be (AF)sacred to the Lord; it will not be stored up or hoarded, but her profit will become sufficient food and magnificent attire for those who dwell in the presence of the Lord.

23 (A)Oráculo[a] sobre[b] Tiro(B):
«Giman, naves de Tarsis(C),
Porque Tiro ha sido destruida, sin casas y sin puerto[c](D).
Desde la tierra de Chipre[d](E) les ha sido revelado.
2 -»Callen(F), moradores de la costa,
Mercaderes de Sidón.
Tus mensajeros cruzaron el mar[e],
3 Y estuvieron en muchas aguas.
Sus ingresos eran el grano del Nilo[f](G) y la cosecha del Río(H),
Y ella era el mercado de las naciones(I).
4 -»Avergüénzate, Sidón(J),
Porque habla el mar, la fortaleza del mar, y dice:
“No he estado de parto, ni he dado a luz,
No he educado jóvenes, ni he criado vírgenes”.
5 -»Cuando la noticia llegue a Egipto,
Se angustiarán(K) por las nuevas de Tiro.
6 -»Pasen a Tarsis(L);
Giman, moradores de la costa.
7 -»¿Es esta su ciudad divertida(M)
Cuyos días se remontan a la antigüedad,
Cuyos pies la llevaban a establecerse en lugares distantes[g]?
8 ¶»¿Quién ha planeado esto contra Tiro, la que concedía coronas(N),
Cuyos mercaderes eran príncipes, cuyos comerciantes eran los nobles de la tierra?
9 -»El Señor(O) de los ejércitos lo ha planeado para abatir(P) el orgullo de toda hermosura,
Para humillar a todos los nobles de la tierra(Q).
10 -»Inunda[h] tu tierra como el Nilo, hija de Tarsis,
Ya no hay más restricción[i].
11 -»El Señor ha extendido Su mano sobre el mar(R),
Ha hecho temblar los reinos(S).
Ha dado orden respecto a Canaán para que destruyan sus fortalezas(T).
12 -»Él ha dicho: “No te divertirás más(U),
Virgen oprimida, hija de Sidón.
Levántate, pasa a Chipre[j](V).
Aun allí no hallarás descanso”.
13 »Miren la tierra de los caldeos: Este pueblo no existía; Asiria(W) lo designó para moradores del desierto(X). Ellos levantaron sus torres de sitio, despojaron sus palacios y la convirtieron en ruinas(Y).
14 Giman, naves de Tarsis(Z),
Porque ha sido destruida su fortaleza.
15 Y acontecerá en aquel día que Tiro será olvidada por setenta años, como los días de un rey(AA). Después de los setenta años le sucederá a Tiro como en la canción de la ramera:
16 “Toma la lira, anda por la ciudad,
Oh ramera olvidada.
Tañe hábilmente las cuerdas, canta muchas canciones,
Para que seas recordada”».
17 Y sucederá que después de los setenta años(AB), el Señor visitará a Tiro. Entonces ella regresará a su paga de ramera y se prostituirá(AC) con todos los reinos sobre[k] la superficie de la tierra. 18 Pero sus ganancias(AD) y su paga de ramera serán consagradas al Señor(AE). No serán almacenadas ni acumuladas, sino que su ganancia llegará a ser suficiente alimento y vestidura selecta para aquellos que habiten en la presencia del Señor.

Ang Pahayag Laban sa Tiro at Sidon
23 Ito(A) ang pahayag tungkol sa Tiro:
Manangis kayo, mga mangangalakal sa Tarsis,
sapagkat ang Tiro na inyong daungan ay wasak na;
wala na kayong mga tahanang matitirhan!
Ito'y inihayag na sa inyo mula sa lupain ng Cyprus.
2 Tumahimik kayo, mga nakatira sa dalampasigan;
kayong mga mangangalakal ng Sidon,
nagpadala kayo ng inyong mga mensahero sa ibayong dagat,
3 upang bilhin at ipagbili ang mga trigo ng Sihor,
ang trigong inani sa kapatagan ng Nilo,
at upang makipagkalakal sa lahat ng bansa.
4 Lunsod ng Sidon, mahiya ka naman!
Isinusuka ka na ng karagatan, sapagkat ganito ang kanyang pahayag:
“Kailanma'y hindi ako nagkaanak;
wala akong pinalaking mga anak na lalaki at babae.”
5 Kapag umabot sa mga Egipcio ang pagkawasak ng Tiro,
sila'y tiyak na magigimbal at mapapahiya.
6 Tumawid kayo sa Tarsis;
manangis kayo mga nakatira sa dalampasigan!
7 Ito ba ang masaya at maingay na lunsod ng Tiro
na natatag noon pang unang panahon?
Ito ba ang lunsod na nagsugo ng mga mamamayan sa ibayong dagat
upang doo'y magtayo ng mga bayan?
8 Sinong nagbalak nito
laban sa maharlikang lunsod ng Tiro,
na kinikilala ang mga dakilang mangangalakal,
at pinaparangalan sa lahat ng bansa?
9 Si Yahweh na Makapangyarihan sa lahat ang nagplano nito
upang hamakin ang kanilang kataasan
at hiyain ang mga taong dinadakila ng sanlibutan.
10 Kayong mangangalakal ng Tarsis,
sakahin na ninyo[a] ang inyong lupain na tulad ng Nilo,
sapagkat wala nang gagambala sa inyo.
11 Ang parusa ni Yahweh ay abot hanggang sa ibayong dagat
at ibinagsak ang mga kaharian;
iniutos na niyang wasakin ang mga kuta sa Canaan.
12 Ang sabi ni Yahweh,
“Lunsod ng Sidon, tapos na ang maliligayang araw mo!
Kahit na pumunta ka sa Cyprus ay nanganganib ka pa rin.”
13 Masdan ninyo ang lupain ng mga taga-Babilonia,
ang bayang ito ay hindi Asiria,
at ang Tiro ay pinananahanan na ng mga ligaw na hayop.
Pinaligiran siya ng mga tore at mga kuta,
at winasak ang kanyang mga palasyo.
14 Manangis kayo mga mangangalakal ng Tarsis,
sapagkat wasak na ang inyong inaasahan.
15 Pitumpung taon na malilimot ang Tiro,
sintagal ng buhay ng isang hari.
Ngunit pagkatapos ng panahong iyon,
siya'y muling babangon at matutulad sa babaing binabanggit sa awit na ito:
16 “Tugtugin mo ang iyong alpa,
babaing haliparot,
libutin mo ang lunsod;
galingan mo ang pagtugtog sa alpa,
umawit ka ng maraming awitin
upang ikaw ay muling balikan.”
17 Pagkatapos ng pitumpung taon, muling lilingapin ni Yahweh ang lunsod ng Tiro. Manunumbalik ito sa dating pamumuhay at muling ibebenta ang sarili sa lahat ng kaharian sa daigdig. 18 Ang kanilang tutubuin sa hanapbuhay ay hindi na nila iipunin. Sa halip, ito'y ihahandog nila kay Yahweh upang ibili ng pagkain at kasuotan ng mga taong sumasamba sa kanya.
