Isaiah 22:3-5

³^(A)All your rulers have fled together,
And have been captured ^[a]without the bow;
All of you who were found were taken captive together,
^[b]Though they had fled far away.
⁴Therefore I say, “Look away from me,
Let me ^(B)weep bitterly,
Do not ^[c]try to comfort me concerning the destruction of the daughter of my people.”
⁵^(C)For the Lord ^[d]God of armies has a ^(D)day of panic, ^(E)subjugation, and confusion
^(F)In the valley of vision,
A breaking down of walls
And a crying ^[e]to the mountain.

    of tumult and ^(E)trampling and ^(F)confusion
    in ^(G)the valley of vision,
a battering down of walls
    and a shouting to the mountains.

    having fled while the enemy was still far away.
⁴Therefore I said, “Turn away from me;
    let me weep^(C) bitterly.
Do not try to console me
    over the destruction of my people.”^(D)

⁵The Lord, the Lord Almighty, has a day^(E)
    of tumult and trampling^(F) and terror^(G)
    in the Valley of Vision,^(H)
a day of battering down walls^(I)
    and of crying out to the mountains.
