Isaiah 22:21-23

²¹I will clothe him with your robe and tie your sash round him. I will hand your authority over to him, and he will be like a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah.^(A) ²²I will place the key^(B) of the house of David on his shoulder; what he opens, no one can close; what he closes, no one can open.^(C) ²³I will drive him, like a peg, into a firm place. He will be a throne of honour for his father’s family.

²¹I will clothe him with your robe and fasten your sash^(A) around him and hand your authority^(B) over to him. He will be a father to those who live in Jerusalem and to the people of Judah. ²²I will place on his shoulder^(C) the key^(D) to the house of David;^(E) what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.^(F) ²³I will drive him like a peg^(G) into a firm place;^(H) he will become a seat^[a] of honor^(I) for the house of his father.
