Asiria conquistará Egipto y Etiopía
20 En el mismo año en que Sargón, rey de Asiria, envió al comandante de su ejército para que atacara a Asdod, y éste la conquistó, 2 el Señor habló por medio de Isaías hijo de Amoz, y dijo:
«Anda, quítate el cilicio que llevas puesto, y descálzate los pies.»
Isaías así lo hizo, y anduvo desnudo y descalzo. 3 Entonces el Señor dijo:
«Así como mi siervo Isaías anduvo desnudo y descalzo durante tres años, como señal y pronóstico contra Egipto y Etiopía, 4 así también, para vergüenza de Egipto, el rey de Asiria llevará desnudos y descalzos, y con las nalgas descubiertas, a los cautivos y deportados de Egipto y Etiopía, lo mismo a jóvenes que a ancianos. 5 Y se turbarán de haber puesto su esperanza en Etiopía, y de haber creído que Egipto era su gloria.»
6 Cuando llegue ese día, dirán los habitantes de esta costa: «¡Vaya esperanza la nuestra, de la que esperábamos ayuda para librarnos del poder del rey de Asiria! ¿Cómo podremos escapar?»

The Sign Against Egypt and Ethiopia
20 In the year that (A)Tartan[a] came to Ashdod, when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him, and he fought against Ashdod and took it, 2 at the same time the Lord spoke by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, “Go, and remove (B)the sackcloth from your [b]body, and take your sandals off your feet.” And he did so, (C)walking naked and barefoot.
3 Then the Lord said, “Just as My servant Isaiah has walked naked and barefoot three years (D)for a sign and a wonder against Egypt and Ethiopia, 4 so shall the (E)king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians as prisoners and the Ethiopians as captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, (F)with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt. 5 (G)Then they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation and Egypt their glory. 6 And the inhabitant of this territory will say in that day, ‘Surely such is our expectation, wherever we flee for (H)help to be delivered from the king of Assyria; and how shall we escape?’ ”
