Now it will be in that day, that the (A)glory of Jacob will [a]wane,
And (B)the fatness of his flesh will become lean.
And it will be (C)even like the [b]reaper gathering the standing grain,
As his arm harvests the ears of grain,
Or it will be like one gleaning ears of grain
In the (D)valley of Rephaim.
Yet (E)gleanings will remain in it like the [c]shaking of an olive tree,
Two or three olives on the topmost branch,
Four or five on the twigs of a fruitful tree,
Declares Yahweh, the God of Israel.
In that day man will (F)have regard for his Maker
And his eyes will look to the Holy One of Israel.
He will not have regard for the (G)altars, the work of his hands,
Nor will he look to that which his (H)fingers have made,
Even the [d](I)Asherim and [e]incense stands.

    in the Valley of Rephaim.(F)
Yet some gleanings will remain,(G)
as when an olive tree is beaten,(H)
leaving two or three olives on the topmost branches,
four or five on the fruitful boughs,”
declares the Lord, the God of Israel.

In that day(I) people will look(J) to their Maker(K)
