Mercy on Jacob

14 For the Lord ^(A)will have mercy on Jacob, and ^(B)will still choose Israel, and settle them in their own land. ^(C)The strangers will be joined with them, and they will cling to the house of Jacob.

¹⁷ “Again proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts:

²³ “Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘In those days ten men ^(B)from every language of the nations shall ^(C)grasp the ^[a]sleeve of a Jewish man, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard ^(D)that God is with you.” ’ ”

¹² that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. ¹³ But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

Christ Our Peace

¹⁴ For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, ¹⁵ having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one ^(A)new man from the two, thus making peace, ¹⁶ and that He might ^(B)reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby ^(C)putting to death the enmity. ¹⁷ And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. ¹⁸ For ^(D)through Him we both have access ^(E)by one Spirit to the Father.

Christ Our Cornerstone

¹⁹ Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,

^14 (A)Simon has declared how God at the first visited the Gentiles to take out of them a people for His name. ¹⁵ And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written:

^11 (A)“Many nations shall be joined to the Lord ^(B)in that day, and they shall become ^(C)My people. And I will dwell in your midst. Then ^(D)you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me to you. ¹² And the Lord will ^(E)take possession of Judah as His inheritance in the Holy Land, and will again choose Jerusalem.
