Isaiah 13:3-5
The Voice
3 I have enlisted them to be the ones to execute My fierce anger.
They are mine—I have commanded and consecrated them—these high and mighty ones.
4 Listen! There is restlessness and rumbling on the mountains,
as a powerful company assembles.
Listen! There is an uproar among the nations
as they gather their might together.
The Eternal, Commander of heavenly armies,
is mustering an army—thousands, maybe millions—for war.
5 They come from lands far away,
beyond distant horizons.
That’s where the Eternal calls up His weapons of wrath—
in order to destroy the whole land!
Isaiah 13:3-5
New International Version
3 I have commanded those I prepared for battle;
I have summoned my warriors(A) to carry out my wrath(B)—
those who rejoice(C) in my triumph.
4 Listen, a noise on the mountains,
like that of a great multitude!(D)
Listen, an uproar(E) among the kingdoms,
like nations massing together!
The Lord Almighty(F) is mustering(G)
an army for war.
5 They come from faraway lands,
from the ends of the heavens(H)—
the Lord and the weapons(I) of his wrath(J)—
to destroy(K) the whole country.
