¹⁸ Their bows^(A) will strike down the young men;^(B)
    they will have no mercy^(C) on infants,
    nor will they look with compassion on children.^(D)
19 Babylon,^(E) the jewel of kingdoms,^(F)
    the pride and glory^(G) of the Babylonians,^[a]
will be overthrown^(H) by God
    like Sodom and Gomorrah.^(I)
20 She will never be inhabited^(J)
    or lived in through all generations;
there no nomads^(K) will pitch their tents,
    there no shepherds will rest their flocks.
