Isaiah 11

11 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;
3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.
10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
13 The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.
14 But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.
15 And the Lord shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod.
16 And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.

11 Y saldrá una vara del tronco de Jessé, y un renuevo retoñará de sus raíces.
2 Y reposará sobre él el Espíritu del SEÑOR, Espíritu de sabiduría y de inteligencia, Espíritu de consejo, y de fortaleza, Espíritu de conocimiento y de temor del SEÑOR;
3 y le hará oler en el temor del SEÑOR. No juzgará según la vista de sus ojos; ni argüirá por lo que oyeren sus oídos.
4 Sino que juzgará con justicia a los pobres, y argüirá con equidad por los mansos de la tierra; y herirá la tierra con la vara de su boca, y con el espíritu de sus labios matará al impío.
5 Y será la justicia cinto de sus lomos, y la fe cinto de sus riñones.
6 Morará el lobo con el cordero, y el tigre con el cabrito se acostará; el becerro y el león y la bestia doméstica andarán juntos, y un niño los pastoreará.
7 La vaca y la osa pacerán, sus crías se echarán juntas; y el león como el buey comerá paja.
8 Y el niño jugará sobre la cueva del áspid; y el recién destetado extenderá su mano sobre la caverna del basilisco.
9 No harán mal, ni dañarán en todo mi santo Monte; porque la tierra será llena del conocimiento del SEÑOR, como las aguas cubren el mar.
10 Y acontecerá en aquel tiempo, que la Raíz de Jessé, la cual estará puesta por bandera como ejemplo a los gentiles, será buscada de los gentiles; y su Reino de paz será glorioso.
11 Y acontecerá en aquel tiempo, que el SEÑOR tornará a poner otra vez su mano, para poseer el remanente de su pueblo que fue dejado de Assur, de Egipto, de Patros, de Etiopía, de Elam, de Caldea, de Hamat, y de las islas del mar.
12 Y levantará bandera como ejemplo a los gentiles, y juntará los desterrados de Israel, y reunirá los esparcidos de Judá de los cuatro cantones de la tierra.
13 Y se disipará la envidia de Efraín, y los enemigos de Judá serán talados. Efraín no tendrá envidia contra Judá, ni Judá afligirá a Efraín;
14 mas volarán sobre los hombros de los filisteos al occidente; saquearán a los de oriente; Edom y Moab les servirán, y los hijos de Amón les darán obediencia.
15 Y secará el SEÑOR la lengua del mar de Egipto; y levantará su mano con fortaleza de su espíritu sobre el Río, y lo herirá en siete riberas, y hará que pasen por él con zapatos.
16 Y habrá camino para el remanente de su pueblo, lo que quedó de Assur, de la manera que lo hubo para Israel el día que subió de la tierra de Egipto.

The Spirit of counsel and might,
The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.
3 His delight is in the fear of the Lord,
And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes,
Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;
4 But (F)with righteousness He shall judge the poor,
And decide with equity for the meek of the earth;
He shall (G)strike the earth with the rod of His mouth,
And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.
5 Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins,
And faithfulness the belt of His waist.
6 “The(H) wolf also shall dwell with the lamb,
The leopard shall lie down with the young goat,
The calf and the young lion and the fatling together;
And a little child shall lead them.
7 The cow and the bear shall graze;
Their young ones shall lie down together;

8 The nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole,
And the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper’s den.

10 “And(K) in that day (L)there shall be a Root of Jesse,
Who shall stand as a (M)banner to the people;

That the Lord shall set His hand again the second time
To recover the remnant of His people who are left,
(O)From Assyria and Egypt,
From Pathros and Cush,
From Elam and Shinar,
From Hamath and the [d]islands of the sea.
12 He will set up a banner for the nations,
And will [e]assemble the outcasts of Israel,
And gather together (P)the dispersed of Judah
From the four [f]corners of the earth.
13 Also (Q)the envy of Ephraim shall depart,

The Righteous Reign of the Branch
11 There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of (A)Jesse,
and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit.
2 And (B)the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him,
the Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and might,
the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
3 And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord.
(C)He shall not judge by (D)what his eyes see,
or decide disputes by (E)what his ears hear,
4 but (F)with righteousness he shall judge the poor,
and decide with equity for the meek of the earth;
and he shall (G)strike the earth with the rod of his mouth,
and (H)with the breath of his lips (I)he shall kill the wicked.
5 Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist,
and (J)faithfulness the belt of his loins.

and a little child shall lead them.

11 (R)In that day the Lord will extend his hand yet a second time to recover the remnant that remains of his people, (S)from Assyria, (T)from Egypt, from (U)Pathros, from (V)Cush,[a] from (W)Elam, from (X)Shinar, from (Y)Hamath, and from (Z)the coastlands of the sea.
12 He will raise (AA)a signal for the nations
and will assemble (AB)the banished of Israel,
and gather the dispersed of Judah
from the four corners of the earth.
13 (AC)The jealousy of Ephraim shall depart,
and those who harass Judah shall be cut off;
Ephraim shall not be jealous of Judah,
and Judah shall not harass Ephraim.
14 (AD)But they shall swoop down on the shoulder of the Philistines in the west,
and together they shall plunder (AE)the people of the east.
They shall put out their hand (AF)against (AG)Edom and (AH)Moab,
and (AI)the Ammonites shall obey them.
15 And the Lord will utterly destroy[b]
(AJ)the tongue of the Sea of Egypt,
and will wave his hand over (AK)the River[c]
with his scorching breath,[d]
and strike it into seven channels,
and he will lead people across in sandals.
16 And there will be (AL)a highway from Assyria
for the remnant that remains of his people,
(AM)as there was for Israel
when they came up from the land of Egypt.
