^2 [a](A)The people who walk in darkness
Will see a great light;
Those who live in the land of the shadow of death,
The light will shine on them.

⁶ “I am Yahweh, I have ^(A)called You in righteousness;
I will also ^(B)take hold of You by the hand and ^(C)guard You,
And I will give You as a ^(D)covenant to the people,
As a ^(E)light to the nations,

⁹ Saying to those who are ^(A)bound, ‘Go forth,’
To those who are in darkness, ‘^[a]Show yourselves.’
Along the roads they will ^[b]feed,
And their pasture will be on all ^(B)bare heights.

60 “^(A)Arise, shine, for your ^(B)light has come,
And the ^(C)glory of Yahweh has risen upon you.
² For behold, ^(D)darkness will cover the earth
And dense gloom the peoples;
But Yahweh will rise upon you,
And His ^(E)glory will appear upon you.
^3 (F)Nations will come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.

^16 (A)The people who were sitting in darkness saw a great Light,
And those who were sitting in the land and shadow of death,
Upon them a Light dawned.”

‘^(A)I have placed You as a ^(B)light for the Gentiles,
That You may ^[b]bring salvation to the end of the earth.’”
