Isaiah 8:22-9:1
King James Version
22 And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.
9 Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.

22 or look to the earth. But look! Distress and darkness, the gloom of affliction! And it will be thrust into darkness!

9 [a] But there will be no gloom for those who were in distress.[b]
In former times he[c] treated the land of Zebulun and Naphtali with contempt, but in the future he will honor the way of the sea beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.

22 Then they will look toward the earth and see only distress and darkness and fearful gloom,(A) and they will be thrust into utter darkness.(B)
9 [a]Nevertheless, there will be no more gloom(C) for those who were in distress. In the past he humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali,(D) but in the future he will honor Galilee of the nations, by the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan—
