Isaiah 8:14-15

14 He will be a sanctuary;(A)
but for the two houses of Israel,
he will be a stone(B) to stumble over
and a rock to trip over,(C)
and a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
15 Many will stumble over these;(D)
they will fall and be broken;
they will be snared and captured.

for both Israel and Judah he will be
a stone(B) that causes people to stumble(C)
and a rock that makes them fall.(D)
And for the people of Jerusalem he will be
a trap and a snare.(E)
15 Many of them will stumble;(F)
they will fall and be broken,
they will be snared and captured.”

32 Why is that? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were by works.[a] They stumbled over the stumbling stone.(A) 33 As it is written,
Look, I am putting a stone in Zion to stumble over
and a rock to trip over,
and the one who believes on him(B)
will not be put to shame.[b](C)
