7 for this is what the Lord God says, “It shall not stand nor shall it happen. 8 For the head (capital) of Aram is Damascus and the head of Damascus is [King] Rezin (now within sixty-five years Ephraim will be broken to pieces and will no longer be a people). 9 And the head (capital) of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah’s son [King Pekah]. If you will not [a]believe [and trust in God and His message], be assured that you will not be established.”’”

7 Yet this is what the Sovereign Lord says:(A)
“‘It will not take place,
it will not happen,(B)
8 for the head of Aram is Damascus,(C)
and the head of Damascus is only Rezin.(D)
Within sixty-five years
Ephraim will be too shattered(E) to be a people.
9 The head of Ephraim is Samaria,(F)
and the head of Samaria is only Remaliah’s son.
If you do not stand(G) firm in your faith,(H)
you will not stand at all.’”(I)

9 And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established.
