3 He will hold you aloft in his hands for all to see—a splendid crown for the King of kings. 4 Never again shall you be called “The God-forsaken Land” or the “Land That God Forgot.” Your new name will be “The Land of God’s Delight” and “The Bride,” for the Lord delights in you and will claim you as his own. 5 Your children will care for you, O Jerusalem, with joy like that of a young man who marries a virgin; and God will rejoice over you as a bridegroom with his bride.

3 You will be a crown(A) of splendor in the Lord’s hand,
a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
4 No longer will they call you Deserted,(B)
or name your land Desolate.(C)
But you will be called Hephzibah,[a](D)
and your land Beulah[b];
for the Lord will take delight(E) in you,
and your land will be married.(F)
5 As a young man marries a young woman,
so will your Builder marry you;
as a bridegroom(G) rejoices over his bride,
so will your God rejoice(H) over you.
