3 For the Lord will (A)comfort Zion,
He will comfort all her waste places;
He will make her wilderness like Eden,
And her desert (B)like the garden of the Lord;
Joy and gladness will be found in it,
Thanksgiving and the voice of melody.
4 “Listen to Me, My people;
And give ear to Me, O My nation:
(C)For law will proceed from Me,
And I will make My justice rest
(D)As a light of the peoples.
5 (E)My righteousness is near,
My salvation has gone forth,
(F)And My arms will judge the peoples;
(G)The coastlands will wait upon Me,
And (H)on My arm they will trust.

3 The Lord will surely comfort(A) Zion(B)
and will look with compassion on all her ruins;(C)
he will make her deserts like Eden,(D)
her wastelands(E) like the garden of the Lord.
Joy and gladness(F) will be found in her,
thanksgiving(G) and the sound of singing.
4 “Listen to me, my people;(H)
hear me,(I) my nation:
Instruction(J) will go out from me;
my justice(K) will become a light to the nations.(L)
5 My righteousness draws near speedily,
my salvation(M) is on the way,(N)
and my arm(O) will bring justice to the nations.
The islands(P) will look to me
and wait in hope(Q) for my arm.
