2 Look to (A)Abraham your father
And to Sarah who gave birth to you in pain;
When he (B)was only one I called him,
Then I blessed him and multiplied him.”
3 Indeed, (C)the Lord will comfort Zion;
He will comfort all her (D)ruins.
And He will make her (E)wilderness like (F)Eden,
And her desert like the (G)garden of the Lord.
(H)Joy and gladness will be found in her,
Thanksgiving and the sound of a melody.

2 look to Abraham,(A) your father,
and to Sarah, who gave you birth.
When I called him he was only one man,
and I blessed him and made him many.(B)
3 The Lord will surely comfort(C) Zion(D)
and will look with compassion on all her ruins;(E)
he will make her deserts like Eden,(F)
her wastelands(G) like the garden of the Lord.
Joy and gladness(H) will be found in her,
thanksgiving(I) and the sound of singing.
