Isaiah 5:7-9

7 For the (A)vineyard of Yahweh of hosts is the house of Israel
And the men of Judah His delightful plant.
Thus He hoped for justice, but behold, (B)bloodshed;
For righteousness, but behold, a cry of distress.
Woes to Those Who Call Evil Good
8 Woe to those who (C)add house to house and join field to field,
Until there is no more room,
So that you have to live alone in the midst of the land!
9 In my ears Yahweh of hosts has sworn, “Surely, (D)many houses shall become (E)desolate,
Even great and good ones, without inhabitants.

7 The vineyard(A) of the Lord Almighty
is the nation of Israel,
and the people of Judah
are the vines he delighted in.
And he looked for justice,(B) but saw bloodshed;
for righteousness,(C) but heard cries of distress.(D)
Woes and Judgments
8 Woe(E) to you who add house to house
and join field to field(F)
till no space is left
and you live alone in the land.
9 The Lord Almighty(G) has declared in my hearing:(H)
“Surely the great houses will become desolate,(I)
the fine mansions left without occupants.
