¹¹ Woe to those who rise early in the morning that they may pursue ^(A)strong drink,
Who stay up late in the evening that wine may inflame them!

^22 (A)Woe to those who are mighty men in drinking wine
And valiant men in mixing strong drink,

¹³ Instead, behold, there is ^(A)joy and gladness,
Killing of cattle and slaughtering of sheep,
Eating of meat and drinking of wine:
“^(B)Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we may die.”

¹² “Come,” they say, “let ^[a]us take ^(A)wine, and let us drink heavily of strong drink;
And ^(B)tomorrow will be like today—^[b]beyond exceedingly great.”

¹¹ Harlotry, ^(A)wine, and new wine take away a heart of wisdom.
