43 But now thus says the Lord,
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name; you are mine.(A)
2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you,
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.(B)
3 For I am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
I give Egypt as your ransom,
Cush and Seba in exchange for you.(C)
4 Because you are precious in my sight
and honored and I love you,
I give people in return for you,
nations in exchange for your life.(D)
5 Do not fear, for I am with you;
I will bring your offspring from the east,
and from the west I will gather you;(E)
6 I will say to the north, “Give them up,”
and to the south, “Do not withhold;
bring my sons from far away
and my daughters from the end of the earth—(F)
7 everyone who is called by my name,
whom I created for my glory,
whom I formed and made.”(G)

“Do not fear, for I have redeemed(D) you;
I have summoned you by name;(E) you are mine.(F)
2 When you pass through the waters,(G)
I will be with you;(H)
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,(I)
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.(J)
3 For I am the Lord your God,(K)
the Holy One(L) of Israel, your Savior;(M)
I give Egypt(N) for your ransom,
Cush[a](O) and Seba(P) in your stead.(Q)
4 Since you are precious and honored(R) in my sight,
and because I love(S) you,
I will give people in exchange for you,

10 For thus says the Lord: Only when Babylon’s seventy years are completed will I visit you, and I will fulfill to you my promise and bring you back to this place.(C) 11 For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.(D) 12 Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you.(E) 13 When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart,(F) 14 I will let you find me, says the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.(G)

8 Yes, this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “Do not let the prophets(A) and diviners among you deceive(B) you. Do not listen to the dreams(C) you encourage them to have.(D) 9 They are prophesying lies(E) to you in my name. I have not sent(F) them,” declares the Lord.
10 This is what the Lord says: “When seventy years(G) are completed for Babylon, I will come to you(H) and fulfill my good promise(I) to bring you back(J) to this place. 11 For I know the plans(K) I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper(L) you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.(M) 12 Then you will call(N) on me and come and pray(O) to me, and I will listen(P) to you. 13 You will seek(Q) me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.(R) 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back(S) from captivity.[a] I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”(T)

25 “I have said these things to you while I am still with you. 26 But the Advocate,[a] the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I have said to you.(A) 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.(B) 28 You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I am coming to you.’ If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I.(C) 29 And now I have told you this before it occurs, so that when it does occur you may believe. 30 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no power over me,(D) 31 but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us be on our way.(E)
