¹¹ But ^[a](A)pelican and hedgehog will possess it,
And ^[b]owl and raven will dwell in it;
And He will stretch over it the ^(B)line of utter formlessness
And the ^[c]plumb line of utter void.
¹² Its nobles—there is ^(C)no one there
Whom they may proclaim king—
And all its princes will be ^(D)non-existent.
¹³ And thorns will come up in its ^(E)fortified towers,
Weeds and thistles in its fortified cities;
It will also be a haunt of ^(F)jackals
And an abode of ostriches.
¹⁴ And the desert ^(G)creatures will meet with the ^[d]wolves;
The ^[e](H)hairy goat also will cry to its kind;
Surely, the ^[f]night creature will obtain relief there
And will find itself a resting place.
¹⁵ The ^[g]owl will make its nest and find its escape there,
And it will hatch its eggs and gather them in its shade.
Surely, ^(I)the ^[h]falcons will be gathered there,
Every one with its kind.

¹⁴ Flocks will lie down in her midst,
All the beasts of the nation;
Both the ^[a](A)pelican and the hedgehog
Will lodge in ^[b]the tops of her pillars;
Their voice will sing in the window,
Ruin will be on the threshold;
For He has laid bare the cedar work.
