^13 (A)For the land of my people in which thorns and briars shall come up,
Indeed, against all the joyful houses and the ^(B)exultant city.
¹⁴ Because ^(C)the palace has been abandoned, the ^[a]populated ^(D)city forsaken.
^[b]Hill and watchtower have become ^(E)caves forever,
A joy for ^(F)wild donkeys, a pasture for flocks,

¹⁵ Though he ^(A)is fruitful among the ^[a]reeds,
An ^(B)east wind will come,
The wind of Yahweh coming up from the wilderness;
And his fountain will ^(C)become dry,
And his spring will be dried up;
It will ^(D)plunder his treasury of every desirable article.
