12 Therefore thus saith the Holy one of Israel, Because you have cast off this word, and trust in [a]violence, and wickedness, and stay thereupon,

13 Therefore this iniquity shall be unto you as a breach that falleth, or a swelling in an high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly in a moment.

14 And the breaking thereof is like the breaking of a potter’s pot, which is broken without pity, and in the breaking thereof is not found [b]a shard to take fire out of the hearth, or to take water out of the pit.

14 And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters' vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit.

12 Therefore this is what the Holy One(A) of Israel says:

“Because you have rejected this message,(B)
    relied on oppression(C)
    and depended on deceit,
13 this sin will become for you
    like a high wall,(D) cracked and bulging,
    that collapses(E) suddenly,(F) in an instant.
14 It will break in pieces like pottery,(G)
    shattered so mercilessly
that among its pieces not a fragment will be found
    for taking coals from a hearth
    or scooping water out of a cistern.”
