⁴ But with ^(A)righteousness He will judge the ^(B)poor,
And decide with uprightness for the ^(C)afflicted of the earth;
And He will strike the earth with the ^(D)rod of His mouth,
And with the ^(E)breath of His lips He will put the wicked to death.

^30 [a]And the foremost ^(A)of the poor will eat,
And the needy will lie down in security;
I will put to death your root with ^(B)famine,
And it will kill off your remnant.

³² How then will one answer the ^(A)messengers of the nation?
That ^(B)Yahweh has founded Zion,
And ^(C)the afflicted of His people will take refuge in it.”

⁴ For You have been a ^(A)strong defense for the poor,
A strong defense for the needy in his distress,
A ^(B)refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat;
For the breath of the ^(C)ruthless
Is like a rain storm against a wall.

^6 (A)The foot will trample it,
The feet of the ^(B)afflicted, the steps of the poor.”
