3 Note this: The Lord God of Armies
is about to remove from Jerusalem and from Judah
every kind of security:
the entire supply of bread and water,

⁶ I gave you absolutely nothing to eat^[a](A) in all your cities,
a shortage of food in all your communities,
yet you did not return to me.^(B)
This is the Lord’s declaration.

¹⁴ You will eat but not be satisfied,^(A)
for there will be hunger within you.
What you acquire, you cannot save,^(B)
and what you do save,
I will give to the sword.^[a]
