Isaiah 28:9-12
Legacy Standard Bible
9 “(A)Whom would He instruct in knowledge,
And whom would He provide understanding about the report?
Those just (B)weaned from milk?
Those just taken from the breast?
10 For He says,
‘[a](C)Order on order, order on order,
Line on line, line on line,
A little here, a little there.’”
11 Indeed, He will speak to this people
Through (D)stammering lips and a foreign tongue,
12 He who said to them, “Here is (E)rest, give rest to the weary,”
And, “Here is repose,” but they would not listen.

8 (A)Heed discipline, O Jerusalem,
Lest (B)My soul become disgusted at you,
Lest I make you a desolation,
A land not inhabited.”
9 Thus says Yahweh of hosts,
“They will (C)thoroughly glean as the vine the (D)remnant of Israel;
Pass your hand again like a grape gatherer
Over the branches.”
10 To whom shall I speak and give warning
That they may hear?
Behold, their (E)ears are uncircumcised,
And they cannot give heed.
Behold, (F)the word of Yahweh has become a reproach to them;
They have no delight in it.
Jeremiah 6:8-10

or I will turn away(A) from you
and make your land desolate
so no one can live in it.”

as thoroughly as a vine;
pass your hand over the branches again,
like one gathering grapes.”
