Israel Will Be Restored
27 In that day the Lord with His severe sword, great and strong,
Will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent,
(A)Leviathan that twisted serpent;
And He will slay (B)the reptile that is in the sea.
The Restoration of Israel
2 In that day (C)sing to her,
(D)“A vineyard of [a]red wine!
3 (E)I, the Lord, keep it,
I water it every moment;
Lest any hurt it,
I keep it night and day.
4 Fury is not in Me.
Who would set (F)briers and thorns
Against Me in battle?
I would go through them,
I would burn them together.
5 Or let him take hold (G)of My strength,
That he may (H)make peace with Me;
And he shall make peace with Me.”
6 Those who come He shall cause (I)to take root in Jacob;
Israel shall blossom and bud,
And fill the face of the world with fruit.
7 (J)Has He struck [b]Israel as He struck those who struck him?
Or has He been slain according to the slaughter of those who were slain by Him?
8 (K)In measure, by sending it away,
You contended with it.
(L)He removes it by His rough wind
In the day of the east wind.
9 Therefore by this the iniquity of Jacob will be covered;
And this is all the fruit of taking away his sin:
When he makes all the stones of the altar
Like chalkstones that are beaten to dust,
[c]Wooden images and incense altars shall not stand.
10 Yet the fortified city will be (M)desolate,
The habitation forsaken and left like a wilderness;
There the calf will feed, and there it will lie down
And consume its branches.
11 When its boughs are withered, they will be broken off;
The women come and set them on fire.
For (N)it is a people of no understanding;
Therefore He who made them will (O)not have mercy on them,
And (P)He who formed them will show them no favor.
12 And it shall come to pass in that day
That the Lord will thresh,
From the channel of [d]the River to the Brook of Egypt;
And you will be (Q)gathered one by one,
O you children of Israel.
13 (R)So it shall be in that day:
(S)The great trumpet will be blown;
They will come, who are about to perish in the land of Assyria,
And they who are outcasts in the land of (T)Egypt,
And shall (U)worship the Lord in the holy mount at Jerusalem.

27 In Yom Hahu Hashem with His cherev hakashah v’hagedolah v’hachazakah (terrible and great and strong sword) shall punish Leviathan the Nachash bari’ach (fleeing serpent), even Leviathan that Nachash akallaton (crooked serpent); and He shall slay the Tanin (serpent, devouring sea monster) that is in the sea.
2 In Yom Hahu sing ye about her, A kerem (vineyard) of fruitfulness.
3 I Hashem do watch over it; I will water it continually; lest any harm it, I will guard it lailah va’yom.
4 Chemah (wrath, fury) is not in Me; but if there were briers and thorns set against Me in milchamah, I would march through it, I would burn it together.
5 Or let him [the enemy of My vineyard, the “brier” or “thorn”] take hold of My ma’oz (stronghold, protection) that he may make shalom with Me; yes, he shall make shalom with Me.
6 He shall cause them that come of Ya’akov to take root; Yisroel shall blossom and bud, and fill with fruit the face of the tevel.
7 Hath He struck it {Israel], as He struck down those that struck it? Or is it [Israel] slain like the slaying of them that are slain by Him?
8 In measure, in the sending [of Yehudah] away [in the Golus], Thou dost contend with her. By His hard wind He removes her in the Yom Kadim (day of the east wind).
9 By this therefore shall kapporah be made for the avon Ya’akov; and this is full fruitage to take away [Yehudah’s] chattat; when He maketh all the stones of the [heathen] mizbe’ach like chalk stones crushed to pieces, the Asherim poles and pagan incense altars shall arise no more.
10 Yet the Ir Betzurah (fortified city) shall be desolate, and the habitation forsaken, and left like a midbar; there shall the egel graze, and there shall it lie down, and strip bare the branches thereof.
11 When the boughs thereof are dry, they shall be broken off; the nashim come, and set them on fire; for it is a people of no understanding; therefore He that made them will not have compassion on them, and He that formed them will show them no favor.
12 And it shall come to pass in Yom Hahu, that Hashem shall thresh from the flowing Nahar (i.e., [Euphrates] River) unto the Wadi Mitzrayim, and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye Bnei Yisroel.
13 And it shall come to pass in Yom Hahu, that the shofar gadol shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in Eretz Ashur (Assyria), and those of the Golus of Eretz Mitzrayim, and shall worship Hashem in the Har HaKodesh in Yerushalayim.

27 En aquel día Jehová castigará con su espada dura, grande y fuerte al leviatán(A) serpiente veloz, y al leviatán serpiente tortuosa; y matará al dragón que está en el mar.
2 En aquel día cantad acerca de la viña del vino rojo. 3 Yo Jehová la guardo, cada momento la regaré; la guardaré de noche y de día, para que nadie la dañe. 4 No hay enojo en mí. ¿Quién pondrá contra mí en batalla espinos y cardos? Yo los hollaré, los quemaré a una. 5 ¿O forzará alguien mi fortaleza? Haga conmigo paz; sí, haga paz conmigo.
6 Días vendrán cuando Jacob echará raíces, florecerá y echará renuevos Israel, y la faz del mundo llenará de fruto. 7 ¿Acaso ha sido herido como quien lo hirió, o ha sido muerto como los que lo mataron? 8 Con medida lo castigarás en sus vástagos. Él los remueve con su recio viento en el día del aire solano. 9 De esta manera, pues, será perdonada la iniquidad de Jacob, y este será todo el fruto, la remoción de su pecado; cuando haga todas las piedras del altar como piedras de cal desmenuzadas, y no se levanten los símbolos de Asera ni las imágenes del sol. 10 Porque la ciudad fortificada será desolada, la ciudad habitada será abandonada y dejada como un desierto; allí pastará el becerro, allí tendrá su majada, y acabará sus ramas. 11 Cuando sus ramas se sequen, serán quebradas; mujeres vendrán a encenderlas; porque aquel no es pueblo de entendimiento; por tanto, su Hacedor no tendrá de él misericordia, ni se compadecerá de él el que lo formó.
12 Acontecerá en aquel día, que trillará Jehová desde el río Éufrates hasta el torrente de Egipto, y vosotros, hijos de Israel, seréis reunidos uno a uno. 13 Acontecerá también en aquel día, que se tocará con gran trompeta, y vendrán los que habían sido esparcidos en la tierra de Asiria, y los que habían sido desterrados a Egipto, y adorarán a Jehová en el monte santo, en Jerusalén.
