¹⁷ Your ^[a]builders hurry;
Your ^(A)destroyers and devastators
Will depart from you.
^18 (B)Lift up your eyes and look around;
^(C)All of them gather together; ^(D)they come to you.
^(E)As I live,” declares Yahweh,
“You will surely ^(F)put on all of them as ^[b]jewels and bind them on as a bride.
¹⁹ For ^(G)your ^[c]devastated and desolate places and your destroyed land—
Surely now you will be ^(H)too cramped for the inhabitants,
And those who ^(I)swallowed you will be far away.
²⁰ The ^(J)children of ^[d]whom you were bereaved will yet say in your ears,
‘The place is too cramped for me;
Make room for me that I may live here.’
²¹ Then you will ^(K)say in your heart,
‘Who has borne these for me?
Indeed, I have been bereaved of my children
And am ^(L)barren, an ^(M)exile and a wanderer.
And who has reared these?
Behold, I ^(N)remained alone;
^[e](O)From where did these come?’”

“Behold, I will lift up My hand to the nations
And make high My ^(P)standard to the peoples;
And they will ^(Q)bring your sons in their bosom,
And your daughters will be lifted up on their shoulders.
^23 (R)Kings will be your guardians,
And their princesses your nurses.
They will ^(S)bow down to you with their ^[f]faces to the earth
And ^(T)lick the dust of your feet;
And you will ^(U)know that I am Yahweh;
Those who ^(V)hope in Me will ^(W)not be put to shame.
