Praise to God
25 O Lord, You are my God.
(A)I will exalt You,
I will praise Your name,
(B)For You have done wonderful things;
(C)Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
2 For You have made (D)a city a ruin,
A fortified city a ruin,
A palace of foreigners to be a city no more;
It will never be rebuilt.
3 Therefore the strong people will (E)glorify You;
The city of the [a]terrible nations will fear You.
4 For You have been a strength to the poor,
A strength to the needy in his distress,
(F)A refuge from the storm,
A shade from the heat;
For the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
5 You will reduce the noise of aliens,
As heat in a dry place;
As heat in the shadow of a cloud,
The song of the terrible ones will be [b]diminished.
6 And in (G)this mountain
(H)The Lord of hosts will make for (I)all people
A feast of [c]choice pieces,
A feast of [d]wines on the lees,
Of fat things full of marrow,
Of well-refined wines on the lees.
7 And He will destroy on this mountain
The surface of the covering cast over all people,
And (J)the veil that is spread over all nations.
8 He will (K)swallow up death forever,
And the Lord God will (L)wipe away tears from all faces;
The rebuke of His people
He will take away from all the earth;
For the Lord has spoken.
9 And it will be said in that day:
“Behold, this is our God;
(M)We have waited for Him, and He will save us.
This is the Lord;
We have waited for Him;
(N)We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.”
10 For on this mountain the hand of the Lord will rest,
And (O)Moab shall be trampled down under Him,
As straw is trampled down for the refuse heap.
11 And He will spread out His hands in their midst
As a swimmer reaches out to swim,
And He will bring down their (P)pride
Together with the trickery of their hands.
12 The (Q)fortress of the high fort of your walls
He will bring down, lay low,
And bring to the ground, down to the dust.

25 Hashem, Thou art Elohai; I will exalt Thee, I will praise Shimecha; for Thou hast done peleh [See Isaiah 9:5(6)]; Thy etzot (plans) of old are emunah omen (perfect faithfulness).
2 For Thou hast made an Ir a heap; a fortified city, a ruin; the stronghold of the zarim (foreigners) to be rebuilt never more.
3 Therefore even the am oz (strong people) shall glorify Thee, the city of the ruthless Goyim shall fear Thee.
4 For Thou hast been a ma’oz (refuge) to the poor, a ma’oz to the evyon in his tzoros, a makheseh (shelter, cover) from the zerem (shower, storm, downpour), a tzel (shade) from the chorev (heat), when the ruach of the ruthless ones is like a zerem (shower, storm, downpour) against a wall.
5 Thou shalt silence the tumult of zarim, as the chorev (heat) in a dry place; even the chorev by the tzel (shadow) of a cloud; the zemir (battle song) of the ruthless ones shall be brought low.
6 And in Har Hazeh [i.e., Mt Tziyon] shall Hashem Tzva’os make unto kol HaAmim a fat mishteh (feast), a mishteh (feast) of finest, aged wines, of finest meats, of the best wines of finest vintage.
7 And He will destroy in Har Hazeh the pnei hallot (the face of the covering, the [death] shroud) cast over all people, and the masseikhah (overspreading veil) over Kol HaGoyim.
8 He will swallow up HaMavet (death) lanetzach (forever); and Adonoi Hashem will wipe away tears from off kol panim; and the kherpah (shame, disgrace) of His people shall He take away from off kol ha’aretz; for Hashem hath spoken it.
9 And it shall be said in Yom HaHu, Hinei, this is Eloheinu; we have waited for Him, and He will save us; this is Hashem; we have waited for Him, we will be glad and have simcha in His Yeshuah (Salvation).
10 For in Har Hazeh [i.e., Mt Tziyon] shall the Yad Hashem rest, and Moav shall be trodden down under Him, even as straw is trodden down in dung.
11 And He shall spread forth His hands in the midst of them, just as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to swim; and He shall bring down their ga’avah (pride) together with the arvot (cleverness) of their hands.
12 And the fortification of thy high chomot (walls) shall He bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the aphar (dust).

Cántico de alabanza por el favor de Jehová
25 Jehová, tú eres mi Dios; te exaltaré, alabaré tu nombre, porque has hecho maravillas; tus consejos antiguos son verdad y firmeza. 2 Porque convertiste la ciudad en montón, la ciudad fortificada en ruina; el alcázar de los extraños para que no sea ciudad, ni nunca jamás sea reedificado. 3 Por esto te dará gloria el pueblo fuerte, te temerá la ciudad de gentes robustas. 4 Porque fuiste fortaleza al pobre, fortaleza al menesteroso en su aflicción, refugio contra el turbión, sombra contra el calor; porque el ímpetu de los violentos es como turbión contra el muro. 5 Como el calor en lugar seco, así humillarás el orgullo de los extraños; y como calor debajo de nube harás marchitar el renuevo de los robustos.
6 Y Jehová de los ejércitos hará en este monte a todos los pueblos banquete de manjares suculentos, banquete de vinos refinados, de gruesos tuétanos y de vinos purificados. 7 Y destruirá en este monte la cubierta con que están cubiertos todos los pueblos, y el velo que envuelve a todas las naciones. 8 Destruirá a la muerte para siempre;(A) y enjugará Jehová el Señor toda lágrima de todos los rostros;(B) y quitará la afrenta de su pueblo de toda la tierra; porque Jehová lo ha dicho.
9 Y se dirá en aquel día: He aquí, este es nuestro Dios, le hemos esperado, y nos salvará; este es Jehová a quien hemos esperado, nos gozaremos y nos alegraremos en su salvación.
10 Porque la mano de Jehová reposará en este monte; pero Moab(C) será hollado en su mismo sitio, como es hollada la paja en el muladar. 11 Y extenderá su mano por en medio de él, como la extiende el nadador para nadar; y abatirá su soberbia y la destreza de sus manos. 12 Y abatirá la fortaleza de tus altos muros; la humillará y la echará a tierra, hasta el polvo.

Praise to the Lord
25 Lord, you are my God;(A)
I will exalt you and praise your name,(B)
for in perfect faithfulness(C)
you have done wonderful things,(D)
things planned(E) long ago.
2 You have made the city a heap of rubble,(F)
the fortified(G) town a ruin,(H)
the foreigners’ stronghold(I) a city no more;
it will never be rebuilt.(J)
3 Therefore strong peoples will honor you;(K)
cities of ruthless(L) nations will revere you.
4 You have been a refuge(M) for the poor,(N)
a refuge for the needy(O) in their distress,
a shelter from the storm(P)
and a shade from the heat.
For the breath of the ruthless(Q)
is like a storm driving against a wall
5 and like the heat of the desert.
You silence(R) the uproar of foreigners;(S)
as heat is reduced by the shadow of a cloud,
so the song of the ruthless(T) is stilled.
6 On this mountain(U) the Lord Almighty will prepare
a feast(V) of rich food for all peoples,
a banquet of aged wine—
the best of meats and the finest of wines.(W)
7 On this mountain he will destroy
the shroud(X) that enfolds all peoples,(Y)
the sheet that covers all nations;
8 he will swallow up death(Z) forever.
The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears(AA)
from all faces;
he will remove his people’s disgrace(AB)
from all the earth.
The Lord has spoken.(AC)
9 In that day(AD) they will say,
“Surely this is our God;(AE)
we trusted(AF) in him, and he saved(AG) us.
This is the Lord, we trusted in him;
let us rejoice(AH) and be glad in his salvation.”(AI)
10 The hand of the Lord will rest on this mountain;(AJ)
but Moab(AK) will be trampled in their land
as straw is trampled down in the manure.
11 They will stretch out their hands in it,
as swimmers stretch out their hands to swim.
God will bring down(AL) their pride(AM)
despite the cleverness[a] of their hands.
12 He will bring down your high fortified walls(AN)
and lay them low;(AO)
he will bring them down to the ground,
to the very dust.
