Isaiah 24:6-8
Amplified Bible
6 Therefore, a curse devours the earth, and those who live on it suffer the punishment of their guilt. Therefore, the inhabitants of the earth are burned [under the curse of God’s wrath], and few people are left.(A)

The new wine mourns,
The vine decays;
All the merry-hearted sigh and groan.
8
The mirth of the timbrels (tambourines) ceases,
The noise of those who rejoice ends,
The joy of the harp ceases.

6 Therefore a curse(A) consumes the earth;
its people must bear their guilt.
Therefore earth’s inhabitants are burned up,(B)
and very few are left.
7 The new wine dries up(C) and the vine withers;(D)
all the merrymakers groan.(E)
8 The joyful timbrels(F) are stilled,
the noise(G) of the revelers(H) has stopped,
the joyful harp(I) is silent.(J)
