^17 (A)Panic and pit and pitfall
Are upon you, O inhabitant of the earth.
¹⁸ Then it will be that he who flees the sound of panic will fall into the pit,
And he who ^[a]climbs out of the pit will be caught in the pitfall;
For the ^(B)windows ^[b]above are opened, and the ^(C)foundations of the earth quake.

^43 (A)Panic and pit and pitfall are coming upon you,
O inhabitant of Moab,” declares Yahweh.
⁴⁴ “The one who ^(B)flees from the panic
Will fall into the pit,
And the one who climbs up out of the pit
Will be caught in the pitfall;
For I shall bring upon her, even upon Moab,
The year of their ^(C)punishment,” declares Yahweh.
