² Who ^(A)proceed down to Egypt
Without ^(B)consulting ^[a]Me,
^(C)To take refuge in the safety of Pharaoh,
And to seek shelter in the shadow of Egypt!
³ Therefore the safety of Pharaoh will be ^(D)your shame,
And the shelter in the shadow of Egypt, your humiliation.
⁴ For ^(E)their officials are at Zoan
And their ambassadors arrive at Hanes.
⁵ Everyone will be ^(F)ashamed because of a people who do not benefit them,
Who are ^(G)not a help or benefit, but a source of shame and also disgrace.”

⁷ Even Egypt, whose ^(A)help is vain and empty.
Therefore, I have called ^[a]her
“^[b](B)Rahab who has been exterminated.”

³ Now the Egyptians are ^(A)human and not God,
And their ^(B)horses are flesh and not spirit;
So the Lord will ^(C)stretch out His hand,
And any ^(D)helper will stumble,
And one who is helped will fall.
And all of them will come to an end together.
