Yahweh Will Judge the Nations

The word which (A)Isaiah the son of Amoz beheld concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

Now it will be that
(B)In the last days
The (C)mountain of the house of Yahweh
Will be established [a]as the head of the mountains,
And will be lifted up above the hills;
And (D)all the nations will stream to it.
And many peoples will come and say,
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh,
To the house of the God of Jacob,
That He may instruct us [b]from His ways
And that we may walk in His paths.”
For (E)from Zion the [c]law will go forth
And the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem.
And He will judge between the nations,
And will [d]render decisions for many peoples;
And (F)they will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks.
(G)Nation will not lift up sword against nation,
And never again will they learn war.

Yahweh Will Have a Day of Reckoning

Come, (H)house of Jacob, and let us walk in the (I)light of Yahweh.
For You have (J)abandoned Your people, the house of Jacob,
Because they are filled with influences from the east,
And they are soothsayers (K)like the Philistines,
And they (L)strike bargains with the children of foreigners.
Their land has also been filled with silver and gold,
And there is no end to their treasures;
Their land has also been filled with (M)horses,
And there is no end to their chariots.
Their land has also been (N)filled with idols;
They worship the (O)work of their hands,
That which their fingers have made.
So (P)the common man has been bowed down,
And the man of importance has been made low,
But (Q)do not forgive them.
10 (R)Enter the rock and hide in the dust
(S)From the dread of Yahweh and from the splendor of His majesty.
11 The [e](T)lofty look of [f]man will be made low,
And the [g](U)men made high will be bowed down,
And Yahweh alone will be exalted in that day.

12 For Yahweh of hosts will have a day of reckoning
Against (V)everyone who is proud and high
And against everyone who is lifted up,
That he may be made low.
13 And it will be against all the cedars of Lebanon that are high and lifted up,
Against all the (W)oaks of Bashan,
14 Against all the (X)high mountains,
Against all the hills that are lifted up,
15 Against every (Y)lofty tower,
Against every fortified wall,
16 Against all the (Z)ships of Tarshish
And against all the desirable craft.
17 The loftiness of [h]man will be bowed down,
And the [i]men who are high will be made low;
And Yahweh alone will be exalted in that day,
18 But the (AA)idols will completely vanish.
19 Men will (AB)go into caves of the rocks
And into holes of the [j]ground
Before the dread of Yahweh
And the splendor of His majesty,
When He arises (AC)to make the earth tremble.
20 In that day men will (AD)cast away to the moles and the (AE)bats
Their idols of silver and their idols of gold,
Which they made for themselves to worship,
21 In order to (AF)go into the caverns of the rocks and the clefts of the cliffs
Before the dread of Yahweh and the splendor of His majesty,
When He arises to make the earth tremble.
22 [k](AG)Stop regarding [l]man, whose breath of life is in his nostrils;
For [m](AH)why should he be esteemed?

The Mountain of the Lord

The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

(A)It shall come to pass in the latter days
    that (B)the mountain of the house of the Lord
shall be established as the highest of the mountains,
    and shall be lifted up above the hills;
and (C)all the nations shall flow to it,
    and (D)many peoples shall come, and say:
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
    to the house of the God of Jacob,
that he may teach us his ways
    and that we may walk in his paths.”
For (E)out of Zion shall go forth the law,[a]
    and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
He shall judge between the nations,
    and shall decide disputes for many peoples;
(F)and they shall beat their swords into plowshares,
    and their spears into pruning hooks;
(G)nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
    neither shall they learn war anymore.

O house of Jacob,
    come, let us walk
    in (H)the light of the Lord.

The Day of the Lord

For you have rejected your people,
    the house of Jacob,
because they are full of things (I)from the east
    and (J)of fortune-tellers (K)like the Philistines,
    and they (L)strike hands with the children of foreigners.
Their land is (M)filled with silver and gold,
    and there is no end to their treasures;
their land is (N)filled with horses,
    and there is no end to their chariots.
Their land is (O)filled with idols;
    they bow down to (P)the work of their hands,
    to what their own fingers have made.
So man (Q)is humbled,
    and each one (R)is brought low—
    do not forgive them!
10 (S)Enter into the rock
    and hide in the dust
(T)from before the terror of the Lord,
    and from the splendor of his majesty.
11 (U)The haughty looks of man shall be brought low,
    and the lofty pride of men shall be humbled,
and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.

12 (V)For the Lord of hosts has a day
    against all that is proud and lofty,
    against all that is lifted up—and it shall be brought low;
13 against all the (W)cedars of Lebanon,
    lofty and lifted up;
    and against all the (X)oaks of Bashan;
14 against all (Y)the lofty mountains,
    and against all the uplifted hills;
15 against every high tower,
    and against every fortified wall;
16 against all (Z)the ships of Tarshish,
    and against all the beautiful craft.
17 (AA)And the haughtiness of man shall be humbled,
    and the lofty pride of men shall be brought low,
    and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.
18 (AB)And the idols shall utterly pass away.
19 (AC)And people shall enter the caves of the rocks
    and the holes of the ground,[b]
from before the terror of the Lord,
    and from the splendor of his majesty,
    (AD)when he rises to terrify the earth.

20 In that day (AE)mankind will cast away
    their idols of silver and their idols of gold,
which they made for themselves to worship,
    to the moles and to the (AF)bats,
21 (AG)to enter the caverns of the rocks
    and the clefts of the cliffs,
from before the terror of the Lord,
    and from the splendor of his majesty,
    (AH)when he rises to terrify the earth.
22 (AI)Stop regarding man
    (AJ)in whose nostrils is breath,
    for of what account is he?
