³     Many peoples shall come and say:
“Come, let us go up to the Lord’s mountain,
    to the house of the God of Jacob,
That he may instruct us in his ways,
    and we may walk in his paths.”^(A)
For from Zion shall go forth instruction,
    and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
^4 [a]He shall judge between the nations,
    and set terms for many peoples.
They shall beat their swords into plowshares
    and their spears into pruning hooks;^(B)
One nation shall not raise the sword against another,
    nor shall they train for war again.^(C)

¹ The people who walked in darkness
    have seen a great light;
Upon those who lived in a land of gloom
    a light has shone.^(A)

⁶ It is too little, he says, for you to be my servant,
    to raise up the tribes of Jacob,
    and restore the survivors of Israel;^(A)
I will make you a light to the nations,
    that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.^[a]
