²⁶ I will restore your leaders as in days of old,^(A)
    your rulers as at the beginning.
Afterward you will be called^(B)
    the City of Righteousness,^(C)
    the Faithful City.^(D)”

²⁷ Zion will be delivered with justice,
    her penitent^(E) ones with righteousness.^(F)

¹⁸ In that day^(A) the deaf^(B) will hear the words of the scroll,
    and out of gloom and darkness^(C)
    the eyes of the blind will see.^(D)
19 Once more the humble^(E) will rejoice in the Lord;
    the needy^(F) will rejoice in the Holy One^(G) of Israel.
²⁰ The ruthless^(H) will vanish,^(I)
    the mockers^(J) will disappear,
    and all who have an eye for evil^(K) will be cut down—
²¹ those who with a word make someone out to be guilty,
    who ensnare the defender in court^(L)
    and with false testimony^(M) deprive the innocent of justice.^(N)

“No longer will Jacob be ashamed;^(Q)
    no longer will their faces grow pale.^(R)
23 When they see among them their children,^(S)
    the work of my hands,^(T)
they will keep my name holy;^(U)
    they will acknowledge the holiness of the Holy One^(V) of Jacob,
    and will stand in awe of the God of Israel.

⁸ And a highway^(A) will be there;
    it will be called the Way of Holiness;^(B)
    it will be for those who walk on that Way.
The unclean^(C) will not journey on it;
    wicked fools will not go about on it.
⁹ No lion^(D) will be there,
    nor any ravenous beast;^(E)
    they will not be found there.
But only the redeemed^(F) will walk there,

²¹ Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes^(A)
    and clever in their own sight.

²¹ Then all your people will be righteous^(A)
    and they will possess^(B) the land forever.
They are the shoot I have planted,^(C)
    the work of my hands,^(D)
    for the display of my splendor.^(E)

¹⁰ I delight greatly in the Lord;
    my soul rejoices^(A) in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
    and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness,^(B)
as a bridegroom adorns his head^(C) like a priest,
    and as a bride^(D) adorns herself with her jewels.
