17 A prophecy(A) against Damascus:(B)
“See, Damascus will no longer be a city but will become a heap of ruins.(C)
17 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.
12 The city is left in ruins,(A) its gate(B) is battered to pieces.
12 In the city is left desolation, and the gate is smitten with destruction.
19 Though hail(A) flattens the forest(B) and the city is leveled(C) completely,
19 When it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place.
13 There in the temple of the sun[a](A) in Egypt he will demolish the sacred pillars(B) and will burn down the temples of the gods of Egypt.’”
13 He shall break also the images of Bethshemesh, that is in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of the Egyptians shall he burn with fire.
