²⁴ The Lord of hosts has sworn, saying,
“Surely, as I have thought, so it shall come to pass,
And as I have purposed, so it shall ^(A)stand:
²⁵ That I will break the ^(B)Assyrian in My land,
And on My mountains tread him underfoot.
Then ^(C)his yoke shall be removed from them,
And his burden removed from their shoulders.
²⁶ This is the ^(D)purpose that is purposed against the whole earth,
And this is the hand that is stretched out over all the nations.
²⁷ For the Lord of hosts has ^(E)purposed,
And who will annul it?
His hand is stretched out,
And who will turn it back?”

^11 (A)You also made a reservoir between the two walls
For the water of the old ^(B)pool.
But you did not look to its Maker,
Nor did you have respect for Him who fashioned it long ago.

⁷ And ^(A)who can proclaim as I do?
Then let him declare it and set it in order for Me,
Since I appointed the ancient people.
And the things that are coming and shall come,
Let them show these to them.
⁸ Do not fear, nor be afraid;
^(B)Have I not told you from that time, and declared it?
^(C)You are My witnesses.
Is there a God besides Me?
Indeed ^(D)there is no other Rock;
I know not one.’ ”
