¹⁶ Their infants^(A) will be dashed to pieces before their eyes;
    their houses will be looted and their wives violated.^(B)

¹⁸ Their bows^(A) will strike down the young men;^(B)
    they will have no mercy^(C) on infants,
    nor will they look with compassion on children.^(D)

²² “I will rise up^(A) against them,”
    declares the Lord Almighty.
“I will wipe out Babylon’s name^(B) and survivors,
    her offspring and descendants,^(C)”
declares the Lord.
